  10. DESCRIPTION
  11.  
  12. Splitty enables you to split large files into smaller ones that 
  13. can be regrouped later to reconstitute the original file.  It is 
  14. particularly useful for sending large files over unreliable 
  15. networks, and for saving large files to floppy disks or other 
  16. modest storage media.

  19. REVISION HISTORY

  21. - v1.51 on 12/12/97: Now supports NT v3.51 and possibly earlier 
  22.   versions.
  23. - v1.5  on 06/16/97: Updated installation procedure and package 
  24.   information, added support for floppy disk operations, split files 
  25.   verification, and enhanced data validation (although there haven't 
  26.   been any complaints).
  27. - v1.0  on 01/26/97: Initial release.

  30. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  32. - Windows 95, Windows NT, or later version.
  33. - Enough free disk space to accommodate the software (less than 0.5MB).

  40. - File_ID.diz: Product identification summary.

  43. INSTALLATION
  44.  
  45. Run the SetupSplitty.exe file, then follow the instructions.
  46.  
  47.  
  48. UPGRADES
  49.  
  50. Install the new version on top of the old one, unless otherwise 
  51. specified in this file.  We recommend that you make a backup of the 
  52. data file in case you wish to revert to the older version at a later 
  53. date.  The data file can be found in the application folder and is 
  54. named the same as the product, but with a "dat" extension.  The data
  55. file may not exist so don't worry if it is not there.

  58. UNINSTALLATION
  59.  
  60. Click the Start button, select Settings, Control Panel, then click
  61. the Add/Remove Programs item.  Proceed by double-clicking the line 
  62. corresponding to this product and follow the instructions.
  63.  
  64. Note that configuration files, generally with a ".dat" extension, 
  65. and registration files, namely "Registration Form.txt", may be 
  66. created by the application and will not be deleted for your 
  67. convenience in case you wish to refer to them at a later date.  
  68. Delete these files manually if you do not want them.
